I have this feeling that I'm never going finish moving in to my apartment

So, I've been in my new apartment since July.

There are still boxes all over the place.

I keep expecting that when I get home from work, some magic elves will have put everything right. Much to my disappointment, they have yet to appear.

I bought a couch, but it's basically serving as a place for me to pile my dry cleaning. I bought three new bookcases and some end tables, and every shelf is bare. Most of my framed artwork is just leaning against the walls. And don't even ask about the Pilates reformer I bought that's still in the box two months after it was delivered.

I guess I'll just keep waiting for the magic elves. Hopefully they'll bring some cookies or Town House crackers with them, they're going to need the energy to assemble my dining room table.

I have this feeling that it's a lot of fun being Charo

Every darn time I see the new Geico commercial with Charo doing the "celebrity re-enactment", I can't stop laughing. Don't get me wrong, I love the one with Little Richard (although the spot with Burt Bacharach is a little creepy), but the spot with Charo just kills me.

Here's a woman (who is looking darn good for being in her 60's) who is known worldwide as a renowned guitarist and protege of Andres Segovia, is an amazing musician, yet here in the states she's best known as a frequent guest on The Love Boat and the "Cuchi Cuchi Girl".

All I know is that if I got to spend my days dressed in crazy outfits, making silly commercials, and doing a show in Vegas? Sounds like a fun existence to me.
